Hola guys! How's your day? I hope always have a good day :)
This is the first time i wrote a blog, so I'm sorry if there many mistake.
OK! I want to share about the story that I have read. Im enjoy when i reading this story, "A Little Thief in the Pantry"
It is the collection A Christmast Hamper: A Volume of pictures and stories for little folks, published in 1888 by T.Nelson and Sons by various unattributed authors. I think this story is very educational for children, with language that is easy enough to help you understand it quickly.
So this story begins with the conversation of a mouse child and its mother about a good human who always leaves food for them.
"MOTHER dear,” said a little mouse one day, “I think the people in our house must be very kind; don’t you? They leave such nice things for us in the larder.”
The mouse mother begins to advise her to be always vigilant and warn her not to go alone except with her, but her son, Gray Whiskers, feels he can take care of himself.
"Greywhiskers twitched his tail with scorn; he was quite sure he knew how to take care of himself, and he didn’t mean to trot meekly after his mother’s tail all his life".
When her mother takes a nap, Gray tries to steal from the kitchen then she sees a cake and takes a bite of the cake which is a birthday cake belonging to the little Miss Ethel. When he heard his mother calling, he ran back to the nest. The mother invited Gray to go to the pantry, she saw a small bite in a cake, and she looked upset because there was another mouse in the house even though the one who bit the cake was her own son.
“Some mouse has evidently been here before us,” she said, but of course she never guessed that it was her little son. "
In this section there is an implied meaning which is to obey the advice given by your parents if you don't want bad things to happen. Okay back to the story. The next day the rat child returned to the kitchen to steal something while his mother was sleeping, but he did not find food there but the smell of grilled cheese. Here he was trapped in a mouse trap. The cheese is placed in the trap, so gray is trapped inside. The next morning the cook saw that a mouse had been trapped and told Ms this. Ethel that this rat had eaten his cake. The cook wanted to punish the rat by drowning it. But because a little girl has a soft heart she releases gray from the trap, and Gray immediately runs fast toward her mother.
"You didn't know it was stealing, did you, dear Mousie" She said. Cook's back was turned for a moment, and At that moment the tenderhearted little Ethel lifted the lid of the trap, and popped Mousie out. "
This is the part that in my opinion is very educational because indirectly little girl Ethel forgives gray the naughty little mouse biting her cake. Overall, this story can be one of the stories that you can read to your children aged 3 - 5 years because this story teaches your children love one another and be obedient to parents by using an interesting character, a mouse. So, that's all the experience as well as the analysis that I can give to friends who are reading, if there are criticisms and suggestions please type it in the comment's column! Thanks.
